Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has been named as the next Brazil national team coach by the Brazilian Football Confederation president Ednaldo Rodrigues. Ancelloti who is currently on contract at Madrid will take over the Brazilian national team in June 2024 exactly on time for the Copa America.
The president also added that Fluminense coach Fernando Diniz will oversee the team until when Ancelotti is available. Diniz will still be Fluminense manager alongside the national team.
"He will come and make the transition for Ancelotti, Fernando Diniz has a game that is also similar to Ancelotti who will take over at Copa America." President Ednalo Rodrigues spoke.
Carlo Ancelotti, whose contract with Madrid expire next summer will be the first coach to take over Selecao since 1965. Brazil will be the 64-year old's new challenge after having spells at Chelsea, Ac Milan, Everton and Real Madrid. He has managed to win four Champions League, a Copa Del Rey, English Premier League title amongst other strings of successes.
Brazil have also not been with a coach since the resignation of Tite just after the World Cup loss to Croatia and have been under the command of the u21's coach Ramon Menezes.
Ancelotti who will be re-uniting with his star players at Selecao like Vinicious, Rodrygo, Militao and Richarlison has so far not released any statement concerning his appointment. Neither has his team Real Madrid said anything.
