This Christmas, Baraka Opera Kenya brings the enchanting opera Amahl and The Night Visitors to life at the Braeburn Theatre, Gitanga Road. The performances will take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December with performances at 3 PM and 6 PM on both days.

Amahl and The Night Visitors is inspired by the biblical account of the Three Wise Men or Magi from the Gospel of Matthew. The opera reimagines their journey to visit the newborn Jesus, focusing on a poor shepherd boy named Amahl and his mother, who are visited by three strangers bearing gifts for the newborn child. As the night unfolds, a miraculous event takes place, adding a fictional and heartwarming layer to this timeless biblical story.

The 45-minute opera is ideal for children of all ages and families, offering a beautiful first experience of opera for any who hasn't experienced it yet. The Opera is the first half of the performance, followed by the second half of the performance, A Choral Celebration of Christmas, which features a variety of Christmas music, including the popular Baba Yetu by Christopher Tin.

Baraka Opera Kenya has assembled over 50 talented Kenyan singers, dancers, and instrumentalists for this festive production. Tickets are priced at Ksh 1,500 for kids and students, and Ksh 3,000 for adults.
