Overview

Since its inception in 2014, Afriwood East Africa has established itself as the leading international trade fair for the wood and woodworking industry on the African continent. Each year, the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) in Nairobi transforms into a vibrant hub for technological innovation, machinery solutions, and craftsmanship in wood processing.

Organized by the renowned Expo Group UAE, the event is part of a global series of exhibitions designed to connect emerging markets around the world.

Afriwood serves as a highly specialized business platform where international industry leaders, suppliers, developers, and decision-makers come together to present tailored solutions for the rapidly growing East African markets. The focus is on cutting-edge woodworking machinery, CNC technology, sustainable forestry products, engineered wood materials, as well as advanced methods for surface finishing and furniture manufacturing. The exhibition showcases state-of-the-art technologies for sawmills, presses, dryers, drilling and sanding systems, complemented by tools, fastening systems, and wood adhesives.

The fair offers an impressive range of products – from particle boards, MDF, and veneers to coatings, sealants, recycling solutions, and energy-efficient wood treatment systems. For professionals from the furniture industry, construction sector, interior design, forestry, and mechanical engineering, Afriwood is a key destination. Visitors benefit from direct access to manufacturers and technological innovations, along with a strong regional focus: the event is specifically aligned with the needs of the East African market, where demand for wood processing and sustainable building materials is rising rapidly.

A particular highlight includes live demonstrations of the latest machines, alongside expert presentations that make technological trends and market developments tangible.

Exhibitors represent the entire value chain of the wood industry – from forestry equipment and sawmill technology to furniture components and intelligent production systems. Visitors primarily come from East and Central Africa, notably Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ethiopia, and include traders, investors, manufacturers, construction firms, designers, and key decision-makers.

Located in the heart of Nairobi, the KICC is not only an architectural landmark but also ideally suited for international trade events. With excellent connectivity via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and a reliable local transport network, smooth travel is assured. Nairobi itself, as the region’s economic and logistical hub, offers a dynamic infrastructure and optimal conditions for world-class business events.

The Afriwood East Africa presents itself for the tenth anniversary edition on 3 days from Wed., 16.07.2025 to Fri., 18.07.2025 in Nairobi.
