With its name "Kusini," meaning "south" in Kiswahili, the villa beautifully harmonizes with the gentle southerly trade winds known as the Kusi, which grace the area for half of the year, creating a serene and refreshing atmosphere for all who visit.
The large and stylish outdoor terrace, adorned with comfortable lounge furniture, and an inviting pool blend seamlessly with a shaded 'baraza' seating area that effortlessly doubles as a delightful bar.
Alongside this tranquil spot is a magnificent dining area featuring a grand round table fit for a sultan, creating the ideal setting for long, leisurely lunches and delicious dinners crafted by our talented in-house private chef. And for a much-appreciated change of scenery, the second-floor coral-tiled terrace of the villa, complete with its beautifully crafted coconut wood table, offers a truly delightful and picturesque breakfast location, perfect for enjoying the morning sun.
In the villa itself, a beautifully spacious sitting room located on the first floor offers the perfect retreat for watching a cozy movie or cooling off in the gentle, refreshing breezes that drift through the entire house. As the sun sets, the roof terrace transforms into the ultimate spot to gaze in awe at the coast's breathtakingly dramatic sunsets. Gather there with friends and family for delightful sundowners and delicious bites while watching traditional dhows glide gracefully into the serene Mida channel, all the while as the stars begin to fill the enchanting African sky above.
Each bedroom is equipped with its own ensuite bathroom, ensuring privacy and convenience for all guests, along with essential features like air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and mosquito nets for a restful night's sleep. The master suite, with an adjoining children's room and shared bathroom, occupies much of the second floor. The first floor features three further bedrooms, two of these are east facing with stunning sea views while the third looks west across the forest to the Mida Creek. Two of these three rooms offer double or twin configurations.
Kusini House is attended by seven staff, lead by Masha, the Head of House. All staff strike the perfect balance of being highly attentive to your needs whilst allowing you the space to enjoy the privacy and comfort of your holiday home.
