Arsenal football club has confirmed the signing of German international Kai Havertz from their London rivals Chelsea. Through social media accounts and their website, Arsenal confirmed they have acquired the services of Havertz and at a fee of €60 million plus add-ons of up to €5 million and he will wear jersey number 29 for the gunners.
Havertz who joined west London side Chelsea from Bayern Leverkusen in the summer of 2020 has made 139 appearances for the blues, scoring 32 goals and assisting 15 times in all competitions. The 24-year-old notably scored the only goal in Chelsea's triumph over Manchester City in the 2021 UEFA Champions league.
He has also been a key player at international level in recent seasons having already amazed 35 appearances for the German national team on his name, scoring 13 goals and representing the country in two major tournaments.
"Kai is a player of top quality; he has great versatility and is an intelligent player. He will bring a huge amount of extra strength to our midfield and variety to our play. We welcome him to Arsenal and we are excited to start working with him when we start pre-season." Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta spoke.
Arsenal also seems to have won the race for Westham Captain Declan Rice over treble winners Manchester City with football transfer news Guru Fabrizio Romano announcing that Westham have accepted the record transfer bid of €100milion plus €5 million.
