After a 3 year COVID-induced hiatus, The Asian Weekly  Achievers Awards (TAWAA) ceremony took place at the Jain Bhavan Auditorium  over the weekend. 
Event organizers The Asian Weekly tell KenyaBuzz that this annual event brings together the Asian community in Kenya and recognizes outstanding individuals, products, brands, and events from the previous year.
 It was a night of glitz and glam. Nairobi's high society was in attendance. I spotted cast members from the Real Housewives of Nairobi, Pinky Ghelani and fashion designer Shenu Hooda.
This year's ceremony, hosted by Kamal Kaur, Bhargav Joshi, and Alykhan Sorathia, introduced two new categories: Special Appreciation and Power Woman, acknowledging philanthropic efforts during the pandemic.
The Special Appreciation Awardees included the Hindu Council of Kenya, Jain Social Group, Nairobi, United Asian Network, Pankaj Shah, Abhishek Rana, and Paresh Dodhia. Dr. Prabha Choksey and Dr. Swati Das received the inaugural Power Woman awards.

6. Best Entertainment Event of the Year (International) - Adnan Sami by Ranee Productions
7. Best Entertainment Event of the Year (Local) - Krishna The Musical by Vibgyor Factory
8. Best Young Achiever - Syna Shah
9. Best Stylish Personality (Female) - Sonal Maherali
10. Best Stylish Personality (Male) - Vikash Pattni
11. Best Emcee - Bhargav Joshi
12. Best Achievement in the field of performing arts/music - Syna Shah
13. Best Sports Personality (Female) - Khushi Malde
14. Best Sports Personality (Male) - Karan Patel
15. Best Product Launch - Broadwalk Mall Opening
16. Best Creative Advert - Bank Of Baroda
17. Special Appreciation Award - Hindu Council Of Kenya
