Celebrated Kenyan-American actor Edi Gathegi has announced that he has been invited to take part in the new DC's live-action film Superman Legacy.
Gathegi who has been cast as "Mister Terrific", a supehero that picks up and holds skills and abilities that others spend their entire lives perfecting revealed that he is excited to take up this opportunity and join the superman franchise. "Beyond grateful a master storyteller has invited me to contribute to this iconic property and this artistic conversation. Humbled to join the DC family, James Garner, Peter Safran and Chantal Nong. Up up and away."
Gathegi has previously featured in films like 'The Watcher', 'Into the badlands', 'Criminal Activities', 'The Guardians of Justice', 'The Black List: Redemption' and 'X-Men: First Class' and also voiced over video game 'Call of Duty'. He joins the list of  small number of actors to appear in both DC Comics and Marvel studios.
The 44-year-old will be joining the DC Franchise alongside Nathan Fillion (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3) and Isabela Merced (Madame Web) on a cast round up by the Warner Bros. Fillion will portray Guy Gradner; one iteration of the superhero Green Lantern while Merced will be Hawkgirl.
The movie which will be released on July 2025 is written by James Gunn who will also be the director. It will focus on Clark Kent's (Super Man) younger years as a reporter at the Daily Planet and becoming a superhero at Metropolis. The movie will be produced by Peter Safran.
Gathegi's other upcoming projects include the sci-fi drama Aporia with Judy Greer and Netflix series Zero day with Robert De Niro.
