Former Manchester United, Real Madrid and currently Al-Nassr's forward Cristiano Ronaldo scored an 89-minute winner to help his side Portugal beat Iceland on his historic 200 international appearance in Tuesdays Euro 2024 qualifier.
Ronaldo turned home Goncalo inacio's header from close range but had to wait for a lengthy VAR check before being awarded his 123rd goal for country as Inacio was initially ruled out for offside in the initial build up- a decision that was eventually overturned by VAR.
This match marked a historic moment in Ronaldo's phenomenal career as he became the first man to reach 200 international appearances. He broke Kuwait forward Bader Al-Mutawa's 196 cap record in march and was awarded with a Guinness world record certificate just before the match commenced.

"For me it's an unbelievable, its amazing. We didn't play well but sometimes football is like that but we eventually did get a goal at the end, well deserved. I am so happy for the 200 appearances, but this is even more special." Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo, a five times Ballon D'or winner goal for the night was his fifth goal of Euro 2024 qualifiers and helped Portugal go to four wins in four games.
