The romantic comedy Fly Me to the Moon spoofs the enduring "fake moon landing" conspiracy. Set during the 1960s Space Race, the film follows a romance between NASA director Cole Davis (Channing Tatum) and marketing specialist Kelly Jones (Scarlett Johansson), who is hired to improve NASA's image and prepare a backup fake moon landing.
Using her Madison Avenue expertise, Kelly persuades the public and politicians to support the Apollo 11 mission while falling for the straight-laced Cole, who sports a quirky hairstyle and heavy makeup. Meanwhile, CIA agent Moe Berkus (Woody Harrelson) pressures Kelly to secretly stage an alternative moon landing in a studio. Comedy ensues.
