Former Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona player Cesc Fabregas has announced that he will be retiring from professional football aged 36.
Cesc Fabregas announced through his social media platforms that he will be retiring from football and taking up a coaching role. The Spain international will now become new head coach of Como B and Primavera teams.
"It is with great sadness to announce that the time has come for me to hang up my playing boots. It's not all sadness though, as I'm now going to start coaching the B and Primavera teams of Como 1907." He wrote on Instagram.
"A club and a project I couldn't be more excited about. This charming football team that won my heart from the first I came. So, after 20 incredible years full of sacrifice, dedication and joy, it's time to say thank you and goodbye to the beautiful game. I loved every minute." He added.
The 36-year-old started his career at Barcelona's La Masia academy at 10 years before joining Arsenal and making his professional debut at 16 and spent eight years at Arsenal playing 212 premier league matches and winning one FA cup with arsenal before eventually going back to Barca.
